Karuizawa is the gold standard of rare Japanese whisky. The distillery closed its doors in 2011, although it had not been producing whisky for over a decade. This particular discontinued 12 year old whisky 2001 won a Gold Medal in the Best Whisky of IWSC. This is a very rare and good whisky that you should try!

Nose: The aromas have alight fruit notes with malt and spice.
Palate: Firm, powerful. A well-balanced attack gives equal footing to aromas of peat, smoke, spices.
Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.
Distillery Information
Karuizawa distillery was a Japanese whisky distillery. It was located at Miyota, a town on the southern slopes of an active complex volcano, Mount Asama, in Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1955, the distillery began production in 1956.
