Detailed Description
Alquimia Reposado is their “rested” (or “reposado”) expression. It is aged for 6 months in white oak, imparting a light color and depth to the tequila. They call it “lightly edged” and recommend it for specialty cocktails. In pronouncing Alquimia, stress the second syllable: “al KEE mee-uh.” The distillery uses “organic methods” and claims to be environmentally friendly using 100% natural processes and no additives. The brand is owned by optometrist Adolfo Murillo of Oxnard, California. For the second year running, Alquimia Reposado was named Best Reposado Tequila in the 2013 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (out of a field of ~60 reposado tequilas). Alquimia Reposado was named Best Reposado Tequila in the 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Alquimia Organic Reposado Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: The reposado has retained the agave aromas and flavors of the Blanco, with subtle hints of the oak.
Palate: Its light gold color is suggestive of its mild presentation on the nose and palate. Ends with a nice warm finish.
Finish: Finish is dry with a pleasant whif of fire.
