Detailed Description
The competitively-priced Espolòn tequila is distilled in the Highlands of Jalisco at Destiladora San Nicolas, under the supervision of Master Distiller Cirilo Oropeza. Espolòn Reposado is aged for three to five months in new American oak barrels. The squat bottles are branded with artwork inspired by 19th century Day of the Dead iconography.
Espolon Reposado Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: On the nose there’s caramel and light agave, tropical fruit and subtle oak.
Palate: The palate offers plantains and more tropical fruit, vanilla and cooked agave.
Finish: The medium, spicy finish fades into agave, caramelized sugar and oak.
Distillery Information
The San Nicolas Distillery was founded in 1998 with distillery facilities show the ancient Mexican cultural environment, mixed with the most modern and advanced production technology. In 2009, Gruppo Campari purchased the Espolon brand, along with the San Nicolas Distillery where it is made. After a 3 year hiatus in the US, Espolon is reintroduced with the same award-winning liquid and updated packaging heralding the true history of Mexico.
