This special limited edition Woodford Reserve is a celebration of the running of the 144th Kentucky Derby. As is the official bourbon of The Kentucky Derby this is the 19th releases in this long-standing artistic series. This bottle features the colorful work of Louisville artist Keith Anderson, an employee of the Brown-Forman’s Bourbon Street Cafe. Since 2007, Anderson has a worked at the private dining room, moonlighting as an artist. This stunning bottle showcases the beautiful thoroughbreds as they break from the starting gate.
Woodford Reserve Kentucky Derby 144 Limited Edition Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Clean, brilliant honey amber complexion, with notes of rich dried fruit, hints of mint and oranges covered with a dusting of cocoa, faint vanilla and tobacco spice on the nose.
Palate: The palate is rich, chewy, rounded and smooth, with complex citrus, cinnamon and cocoa. Toffee, caramel, chocolate and spice notes abound.
Finish: The finish is silky smooth, almost creamy at first with a long, warm satisfying tail.
Distillery Information
The Woodford Reserve Distillery has been distilling on the same site for more than 235 years, making it the oldest Bourbon distillery in Kentucky. Now owned by Brown-Forman—one of America’s largest wine and spirits companies—it has been refitted and set to expand.
