This rare bottling was the second release in Macallan’s ‘Replica’ series, produced in 2001. An awesome piece for collectors, whisky historians and antiques enthusiasts. A fantastic whisky for all.
Macallan 1861 Replica Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose displays citrus, dried fruits with spice and is lightly floral with hints of toffee, wood smoke, apple, light oil and malt.
Palate: The palate reveals spice, light lemon-citrus, resin and lightly smoked oak flavours with hints of toffee re-emerging.
Finish: Lingering slightly sweet aftertaste of spice, subtle smoked wood and malt.
Distillery Information
The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
