Having slumbered in the Macallan warehouses at Easter Elchies, the Macallan Gran Reserva now reveals itself as a malt steeped in the pedigree oft The Macallan. From the initial gathering of water at there own private source, to the shipping of casks, each moment, each costly selection of the best is, to be found in The Macallan Gran Reserva. The Gran Reserva Macallan’s were released between 1997 and 2002 and are perhaps one of the most sought after releases from Macallan. Distilled in 1981 and bottled in 1999. Nose: To the nose it reveals a full, earthy character, wherein the oak casks suffuse with the complex, fruity spirit spirit to create an aura of luxurious fulfilment.
Palate: On the palate it releases a flow of of gathering intensity, as the depth of its history breaks over the warmth of its soul.
Finish: A long and smooth finish.

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
