The Iron Smoke Casket Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited release of their unfiltered, uncut, small batch bourbon. This is of very limited quantity in which its bottled as a rare and exceptionally complex 120 proof. The result is an offering that’s picked from thousands of their triple char virgin white oak barrels. Casket Strength means that it has no liquid filler from any other source excerpting delicious notes of butterscotch, vanilla and caramel.
Iron Smoke Casket Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: The aroma is vary powerful… you can smell the raw Bourbon spice along with the vanilla, hot toffee, and wild western herbal notes with a bit of apple.
Palate: Notes of pecan pie, braised apples, caramel apples, thick baking spices, and tobacco smoke.
Finish: The finish is long, spicy, and lightly sweet.
Distillery Information
Iron Smoke Distillery is a fairly new addition to the craft distilling community located in Upstate New York. In that part of the state they grow a lot of apples. So it is only natural that this local crop would have an impact on the spirits they produce. Currently, there are two core products in the Iron Smoke family — Iron Smoke Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Rattlesnake Rosie’s Apple Pie Whiskey — and both share this influence. Both are award-winners.
